Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the development of two model villages in every district of Uttarakhand on the lines of the Sarkot Model Village. During a high-level meeting held at the CM residence on Monday, Dhami emphasized integrated development and livelihood enhancement in these villages through effective implementation of government schemes.
He instructed officials to ensure strict law enforcement along Char Dham travel routes and to take strong action against disruptive or undesirable activities. Additionally, he directed officials to identify locations for two spiritual economic zones announced on International Yoga Day and initiate development work.
To promote adventure tourism and enhance local employment, the CM called for the creation of new tourist destinations. He also stressed the need to formulate short-, medium-, and long-term plans for strengthening the state’s tourism infrastructure and job creation. He instructed expedited work on the master plans for Hanol and Jageshwar, and the construction of Haripur-Kalsi Ghat, along with integrating travel-route villages under the homestay scheme.
Dhami said the model villages should focus on agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, beekeeping, dairy development, mushroom cultivation, and holistic socio-economic growth. He also directed that these villages should be powered through locally produced solar energy. Senior officials including Secretaries Shailesh Bagauli, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Dheeraj Garbyal, ADG AP Anshuman, and DG Information Banshidhar Tiwari attended the meeting.
