Uttarakhand SDRF rescues three from Doon river surge

In Dehradun’s Prem Nagar area near Thakurpur, three people got trapped in the strong current of a local river due to relentless rainfall. Upon receiving the alert, an SDRF rescue team led by Sub-Inspector Rajbar Singh Rana from the Sahastradhara post was immediately dispatched with all necessary equipment.

Despite the challenging conditions, the team acted swiftly and rescued all three individuals safely. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall continues across Dehradun and other parts of Uttarakhand, causing severe waterlogging.

In one incident, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s convoy passed through flooded areas near Rispana Bridge. A large tree also fell early in the morning inside the Shaheed Smarak premises due to the rain.

Additionally, the Badrinath Highway witnessed multiple landslides. JCB and Pokland machines have been deployed at several spots to clear debris. Notably, debris from Pagal Nala was cleared using a JCB, and the highway remains open at present.
