The e-office system at the Uttarakhand Secretariat has been successfully upgraded by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), streamlining all administrative operations. The new version of the system is reportedly more secure and efficient, ensuring smoother file movement and improved document management.
The upgrade required a planned two-day shutdown last week. According to Additional Secretary of the IT Department, Nitika Khandelwal, the upgraded e-office is now fully operational at the Secretariat. The state government now plans to implement the system in 12 more departments and district-level offices in a phased manner.
NIC’s technical team, working through the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA), will oversee the rollout and provide necessary support to the departments. With this upgrade, improvements are expected in administrative transparency, workflow efficiency, and digital governance.
