Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to select two villages near Dehradun and Haldwani for transformation into high-tech tourist hubs offering modern amenities, including a unique “Work From Village” experience for visitors. These villages will be developed as pilot projects to promote sustainable rural tourism.
CM Dhami instructed Chief Minister’s Secretary Shailesh Bagauli to ensure these villages are equipped with high-speed internet, uninterrupted electricity, proper roads, and efficient drainage systems. Home-stay facilities will also be made available to give tourists a comfortable stay while allowing them to work remotely.
The Energy Department has been specifically tasked with ensuring zero power outages in these areas. Additionally, CM Dhami has directed Principal Secretary (Energy) R. Meenakshi Sundaram to oversee the uninterrupted power supply. He also emphasized preserving Uttarakhand’s ancient manuscripts, copper plates, and scriptures through scientific conservation methods.
