Uttarakhand to Double Journalist Welfare Fund, Extend Accreditation to Tehsil Level

Dehradun: In a major announcement for the journalist community, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami declared that the Journalist Welfare Fund in Uttarakhand will be increased from ₹5 crore to ₹10 crore. Additionally, the state government plans to provide official accreditation to journalists at the tehsil level.

The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the issues faced by journalists and ensuring their welfare. This initiative is expected to enhance the resources, recognition, and security available to journalists across the state.
