Uttarakhand is set to host its first-ever Uttarakhand Travel Conclave in the new year, with the tourism department beginning preparations for the event. The conclave aims to bring together tourism stakeholders from across the country, with a special focus on wedding tourism, adventure tourism and responsible tourism.
A meeting of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Officer and Secretary Dheeraj Singh Garbyal, where in-principle approval was given for organising the conclave. For the first time in the state’s history, such a dedicated tourism conclave will be organised to promote Uttarakhand as a diversified tourism destination.
The two-day B2B conclave will be organised in collaboration with the Indian Association of Tour Operators. Active participation will come from the Hotel and Restaurant Association, Uttarakhand Tourism Representative Association, Tour Operators Association of Uttarakhand and the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India.
Secretary Garbyal said the conclave would play a key role in positioning Uttarakhand as a leading destination for wedding tourism, adventure activities and sustainable travel. He added that the event would strengthen networking between tourism stakeholders and help showcase the state’s potential on a national and international platform.
Domestic and international tour operators, wedding planners, event and concert organisers, and organisations linked to adventure tourism will get the opportunity to showcase their products and services through expo and display formats. The conclave will also feature focused meetings and thematic sessions on wedding tourism, adventure tourism, domestic and international tourism, and responsible tourism. As part of the initiative, roadshows will also be organised across the country to promote the conclave and Uttarakhand’s tourism offerings.
