The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for three districts in Uttarakhand—Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Almora—due to the likelihood of moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by hailstorms. Thunderstorms and winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km/h are also expected in these regions.
In addition, a yellow alert has been issued for Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, and Champawat. These areas are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall with occasional lightning and strong winds.
On Wednesday, Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 32.1°C and a minimum of 17.9°C. For Thursday, temperatures in Dehradun are expected to rise slightly, with a maximum of 34°C and a minimum of 19°C.
Residents are advised to remain cautious, especially in areas with the orange alert, and to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
