Uttarakhand Weather: Heavy Rain Continues in Dehradun, Alert Issued

Continuous heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life in many parts of Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, over the past 24 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain in several districts for Monday.

According to the forecast, Bageshwar district may experience heavy to very heavy rain in isolated areas, while parts of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, and Nainital are also likely to witness heavy showers. The weather office has cautioned that many districts could see intense spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Authorities have advised residents to remain alert and avoid venturing near rivers and streams.

On Sunday afternoon, around 2 PM, a short but intense downpour caused waterlogging in several areas. The one-hour rain event led to flooding on roads and swelling of rivers and streams. In the Raipur area, two children were swept away in a swollen stream; tragically, one lost his life.

The continuous rainfall has also brought a slight drop in temperatures. For Monday, the forecast suggests a maximum temperature of 31.1°C and a minimum of 24.3°C in Dehradun, 34°C maximum and 25.6°C minimum in Pantnagar, 20.1°C maximum and 15.8°C minimum in Mukteshwar, and 23.6°C maximum with 17.6°C minimum in Tehri.
