Uttarakhand Weather: Heavy September Rains Break Records, Monsoon Set to Withdraw Soon

Dehradun: Uttarakhand witnessed record rainfall this September, with the state receiving 44% above normal showers, leading to widespread destruction. According to official data, Bageshwar recorded the highest rainfall at 429 mm, which is 251% above average. Dehradun followed with 450.2 mm, nearly 121% higher than normal levels.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will completely withdraw from the state within two days. As a result, plains are likely to experience intense sunshine and rising temperatures, while hilly regions may continue to receive light showers until September 28.

Daytime temperatures in the plains are already four to five degrees above normal due to clear skies, and even hilly areas have reported a rise in both day and night temperatures. The change marks the beginning of the monsoon’s farewell phase across Uttarakhand.
