Dehradun: After continuous rainfall, Uttarakhand is likely to see relief for the next three days. The Meteorological Department has not issued any rain warning for Sunday, though light showers may occur in parts of the hilly areas, while plains will remain dry.
According to the forecast, clear weather is expected across the state till September 23. On September 24, heavy rain may occur in mountainous regions. The monsoon is likely to withdraw from Uttarakhand between September 30 and October 1.
Meanwhile, rainfall this month has already exceeded the usual average. In just 19 days, the state has recorded 70% more rain than normal. Bageshwar received the highest rainfall, followed by Dehradun. From September 1 to 19, Dehradun recorded 446.5 mm of rain, which is 160% above normal. In comparison, the highest rainfall in the last decade for September was in 2019 at 489.9 mm, a record that may be surpassed this year before the monsoon withdraws.
