Dehradun – Uttarakhand’s daughter Anisha from Luntara village in Chamoli district has brought immense pride to the state by securing first place in the women’s category at the 10 km Red Run Marathon 3.0 held in Dimapur, Nagaland. The event was organized by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Competing against hundreds of athletes from 35 states and union territories, Anisha demonstrated exceptional fitness, determination, and discipline to claim the top position at the national level. Recognizing her outstanding achievement, the Additional Secretary and Director General of NACO awarded her a cash prize of ₹50,000, a certificate of merit, and a gold medal on behalf of the Government of India.
Secretary, Medical Health and Education, and Project Director Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar congratulated Anisha on her historic victory, calling it a proud moment for the entire state of Uttarakhand. He wished her continued success and praised her as an inspiration for the youth of the state.
Earlier, Anisha had also excelled at the state-level Red Run 3.0 organized by the Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Society (USACS), where she secured first place in the 5 km race. Her state-level success became the foundation for her national triumph, where she once again proved her talent and determination on a larger stage.
Anisha’s remarkable achievement is a source of pride not only for her family and Chamoli district but for the entire state of Uttarakhand. Her victory highlights the strength and potential of young women in the hills who continue to make the state proud through hard work and perseverance. Anisha has truly emerged as the new “Red Run Champion” and a role model for aspiring athletes across the region.

During the event in Dimapur, the Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Society team, including Deputy Director (Finance) Mahendra Kumar, Anil Sati, Mukesh Chinyala, Vinod Kumar, and Nodal Officer Hemant Singh Kandari, were present and expressed pride in Anisha’s achievement.
