A tragic incident occurred in Mora Tok of Odatha revenue village in Uttarkashi district, where four members of a single family lost their lives after a wall of their house collapsed late Friday night. Among the deceased are a 10-month-old baby girl and a three-year-old boy.
The accident took place around 2 AM when the residential house of Gulam Hussain suddenly crumbled. Family members sleeping inside were trapped under the debris. The deceased have been identified as Gulam Hussain (26), his wife Rukma Khatoon (23), son Abid (3), and daughter Salma (10 months).
The incident has left the entire region in mourning. Upon receiving information, Tehsildar Jabbar Singh Aswal, Revenue Sub-Inspector, SDRF, and local police immediately reached the site. Despite swift rescue efforts, all four were found dead under the rubble.
Tehsildar Aswal confirmed the incident and said relief operations began without delay. While the exact reason behind the collapse is yet to be determined, recent heavy rainfall and the structural condition of the house are being considered as possible factors. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation.
