Dehradun: To mark 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, all government and private educational institutions across Uttarakhand will observe the ‘Vande Mataram Smaranotsav’. The fortnight-long celebration will feature various patriotic activities such as rallies, march-pasts, debates, speeches, cultural performances, poetry, and poster competitions in schools, colleges, universities, and medical institutions.
State Education and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat chaired a virtual meeting from Kolkata with officials from the School Education, Higher Education, Sanskrit Education, and Medical Education departments. During the meeting, he instructed them to organize large-scale events between November 7 and November 26 to inspire national pride and unity among students and teachers.
Dr. Rawat directed that every institution ensure full participation of students and teachers in the activities. He also encouraged inviting parents, public representatives, and the general public, emphasizing that freedom fighters should be specially honored during the events. He further instructed that all programs be documented through photographs and videos and uploaded to the government portal to highlight Uttarakhand’s contribution at the national level.
Officials including Dr. Ajay Arya (Director, Medical Education), V.N. Khali (Director, Higher Education), Vandana Garbyal (Director, SCERT), Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati (Director, Secondary Education), Ajay Kumar Naudiyal (Director, Primary Education), and Kanchan Devradi (Director, Sanskrit Education) attended the virtual meeting along with other senior officers.
