The demand for a strict land law in Uttarakhand has intensified, especially in hilly regions. Amid growing discussions, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt has clarified the government’s stance on the issue.
Government Committed to Strong Land Law
Mahendra Bhatt stated that the state government is preparing to introduce a strict land law aligned with public sentiment. District authorities have completed investigations into land law violations, and lands acquired through illegal means will be vested in the government.
He emphasized that protecting every inch of land in Uttarakhand is the government’s top priority. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reaffirmed his commitment to a strict land law, and preparations for its introduction in the budget session are complete.
Political Criticism
Bhatt criticized Congress, alleging that it has ignored cultural and demographic security in Uttarakhand. He asserted that BJP is fully aware of the people’s concerns and is committed to bringing the necessary legal measures.
