Vikasnagar: A woman allegedly jumped into a canal along with her two children from Bridge Number One in Vikasnagar Kotwali area on Monday. Local residents present near the spot managed to rescue both children from the canal, while the woman was swept away and remains missing.
According to initial information, the incident created panic in the area after people saw the woman jumping into the canal with the children. Locals immediately rushed to help and pulled the children out safely.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and started a search operation to trace the missing woman. The reason behind the incident is yet to be known. Officials said efforts are underway to locate the woman with the help of local teams and rescue personnel.
