Dehradun: The Uttarakhand State Women Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of an alleged sex racket operating inside a school premises in Dehradun and sought strict action in the matter. Commission chairperson Kusum Kandwal has written to the District Magistrate directing a detailed investigation into the case. She said such activities inside an educational institution are unacceptable and strict action should be taken against those involved.
The commission has asked the administration to identify and expose the masterminds behind the alleged racket. It has also directed officials to investigate suspicious centres linked to liquor and drug activities around educational institutions.The administration has been instructed to ensure strict monitoring so that such incidents do not occur near schools and colleges in future.
Kusum Kandwal also appealed to parents to closely monitor the activities of their children. She said parents have an important role in protecting the younger generation from criminal activities.
