Kashipur Murder Case: Elderly Man Killed After Dispute Over Parked Vehicle Ahead of Family Wedding

Kashipur (Udham Singh Nagar): A 70-year-old man lost his life after a violent attack allegedly triggered by a dispute over a parked vehicle in Mahuakheraganj area of Kashipur. The incident occurred in Mohalla Jama Masjid, where members of a family were reportedly assaulted with sticks and iron rods.

According to reports, the victim, Afzal Ahmad, had asked a neighbor to remove a Scorpio vehicle parked in front of his house so that wedding-related goods could be unloaded. Two nieces in the family are scheduled to get married on June 9, and preparations were underway when the argument reportedly began.

The disagreement soon escalated into a confrontation. Family members alleged that late on Saturday night, around 11:30 pm, a group of accused persons attacked them. During the assault, Afzal Ahmad suffered serious head injuries after being struck with an iron rod.

Five other family members, identified as Qasam Ali, Anees Ahmad, Rizwan, Furqan and Masitan, also sustained injuries in the attack. All injured persons were taken to hospital for treatment.

Due to the severity of his condition, Afzal Ahmad was referred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning during treatment.

Police from Paiga outpost took custody of the body and sent it for postmortem examination. Officials said the accused are currently absconding and search operations are underway. A formal complaint was yet to be submitted at the time of reporting.

Mahuakheraganj Chairman Rizwan Ahmad visited the hospital and met the bereaved family. The deceased is survived by his wife Khatun and four sons—Aslam, Akram, Mukarram and Aqil.
