Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a sharp attack on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi during a media interaction in Dehradun, accusing the opposition party of having no real issues and spreading misinformation.

Dhami said Congress no longer has any substantive issue to raise and alleged that Rahul Gandhi is attempting to create confusion through programmes such as ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’. He claimed that several statements made by Gandhi have been found to be incorrect during fact-checking.

Responding to Congress allegations linking a recent purification ritual to caste, Dhami accused the party of deliberately creating confusion and attempting to divide society. He said the purification ceremony and havan were conducted in opposition to alleged jihadi slogans and had no connection with caste.

The Chief Minister said the brothers who conducted the ceremony themselves belonged to a Scheduled Caste community. He said this demonstrated the facts behind the issue and contradicted the narrative being presented by Congress.

Congress questioned over investment and employment

Dhami also responded to questions related to the Uttarakhand Infrastructure Investment Development Board (UIIDB). He said the institution is working to increase investment in the state, accelerate economic activity and create new employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister alleged that Congress is also unhappy with the investment coming into Uttarakhand and the employment opportunities being created for young people.

Government claims 13,000 acres of land freed

Dhami said his government has freed around 13,000 acres of encroached government land across the state. He alleged that Congress is unhappy with this action as well.

Referring to the encroachment issue in Banbhulpura, Dhami questioned what he described as Congress’s silence and said it reflected the party’s alleged double standards.

The Chief Minister said protecting government land and preserving the original character of Uttarakhand remain priorities for his government. He stressed that every inch of land in the state and the character of Devbhoomi would be protected.
