Haridwar Jwalapur Bus Accident: Five Vehicles Hit, Auto Driver Loses Hand

Haridwar: A speeding bus went out of control near Durga Chowk in Jwalapur on Monday, hitting an auto-rickshaw and four cars in a major road accident. The collision left auto driver Trilok Singh Gusain seriously injured, while a dog also died after being hit by the bus.

According to the available information, the accident occurred near Durga Chowk when the bus suddenly became uncontrollable and struck vehicles parked outside a private hospital. The impact involved one auto-rickshaw and four cars.

The collision severely injured the auto driver. Trilok Singh Gusain suffered such serious injuries that one of his hands was severed in the accident. He was initially attended to before being referred to the higher medical centre at Jolly Grant for further treatment.

A dog was also caught under the bus during the accident and died. The incident caused panic in the area, while traffic on the road was affected following the collision.

Bus driver detained

Jwalapur police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and took control of the situation. People in the area also helped those affected by the collision.

Police detained the bus driver and took the damaged bus into custody. An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances that caused the bus to go out of control.

Police said the preliminary information indicates that the bus became uncontrollable before hitting the vehicles. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.

The injured auto driver, Trilok Singh Gusain, has been referred to Jolly Grant Higher Centre for treatment.
