Haldwani – A fight between two young men in Haldwani’s Workshop Line area on Wednesday evening turned violent, with both men attacking each other on the road. One of them suffered a head injury and was seen bleeding during the fight.
Despite the injury, the youth continued the assault and dragged the other man along the road while beating him. The incident came to light after a video of the fight circulated on social media.
The video shows the two men fighting, with one of them bleeding heavily from his head. Despite the injury, he is seen knocking the other man to the ground and repeatedly hitting him with punches and slaps. He is also seen dragging the man along the road while continuing the assault. People present at the spot can be heard trying to intervene and stop the fight.
A person is heard saying in the video, “Don’t hit him, the video is being recorded.” According to preliminary information, the two men had an argument over an issue before the dispute escalated into a physical fight. The exact reason behind the confrontation, however, has not yet been established.
Police are examining the viral video and gathering information about the incident. Haldwani Kotwal Vijay Mehta said no complaint has been received from either side so far. He said a first information report will be registered and action will be taken if a complaint is submitted. Police are also attempting to identify the two men based on the video.
