Preparations for municipal elections in Uttarakhand are in full swing. The Urban Development Directorate has resolved all objections and plans to submit its report to the government by Sunday. Based on this, the final notification may be issued on Monday or Tuesday.
The Urban Development Department had released a provisional notification for the mayor and chairperson posts of municipal bodies on December 14. Following the resolution of objections, the state election commission is preparing to issue the election notification by December 25 or 26.
The directorate has completed addressing objections from 100 municipal bodies, ensuring timely issuance of the final notification to expedite the electoral process.
