104 Indians Deported from the U.S., Aircraft Lands in Amritsar

Under strict U.S. immigration policies, 104 undocumented Indian migrants have been deported from the United States. A U.S. military C-17 aircraft carrying them landed at Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji International Airport, Amritsar, on Wednesday afternoon.

State-Wise Breakdown of Deportees

Among the 104 deported individuals:

  • 30 are from Punjab
  • 33 from Haryana
  • 33 from Gujarat
  • 3 from Maharashtra
  • 3 from Uttar Pradesh
  • 2 from Chandigarh

U.S. Immigration Crackdown

Reports indicate that under former President Donald Trump’s tenure, the U.S. intensified deportation actions against illegal immigrants. A U.S. embassy spokesperson stated that tighter immigration laws led to the removal of foreign nationals, including Indians. In the past two weeks, the U.S. has deported migrants from Guatemala, Peru, and Honduras using military aircraft.
