Delhi Secretariat Sealed: Move to Secure Files After AAP’s Defeat

In the wake of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) massive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered the sealing of the Delhi Secretariat to safeguard administrative documents and computer data. The General Administration Department (GAD) of the Delhi government has issued strict orders prohibiting the removal of files, documents, or computer hardware from any departments, agencies, or ministerial camp offices without prior approval.

As per the latest election results, BJP has secured 30 seats and is leading on 18 more, marking its return to power in Delhi after 27 years. Along with the party’s defeat, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia have also lost their respective seats. In light of this political transition, the decision to seal the Secretariat aims to preserve crucial government records as power shifts to the new administration.
