Mahakumbh: Transport Corporation to Deploy 3,050 Special Buses

The Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation will operate 3,050 special buses from February 8 to 27 for the third phase of Mahakumbh 2025. These buses will run from temporary bus stations, ensuring a smooth travel experience for devotees. Transport Corporation Managing Director Masoom Ali Sarwar praised the efforts of officials and staff in a video conference on Friday. He instructed them to maintain high alertness on February 12 and 26, the scheduled Amrit Snan days. Newly appointed corporation spokesperson Amarnath Sahay stated that the Managing Director reviewed and appreciated the ongoing work for the Mahakumbh Mela.

The Mahakumbh 2025 has witnessed an unprecedented influx of devotees. Between January 13 and February 7, a staggering 40.68 crore pilgrims have taken a holy dip at Sangam. On Friday alone, 94 lakh devotees participated in the ritual, surpassing initial expectations. The Uttar Pradesh government had estimated around 40 crore pilgrims for the entire event, but this number has already been exceeded within just 25 days. With 19 days remaining, the gathering is poised to set a new record. On Makar Sankranti, the first Amrit Snan saw 3.5 crore devotees taking a dip, and the crowd in Prayagraj continues to grow rapidly.
