50-Hour ICT Training Made Mandatory for Uttarakhand Teachers

All government school teachers and principals in Uttarakhand must complete a 50-hour ICT-based teaching-learning training program. Under the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), emphasis is being placed on integrating digital pedagogy into the education system. SCERT Additional Director Pradeep Kumar Rawat has directed secondary and primary education officials to ensure teacher participation. The training must be completed by March 31, 2025.

To enhance teachers’ digital proficiency, SCERT has launched the ‘E-Srijan’ app. Previously, many teachers did not take such training seriously, reflecting a lack of responsibility. Those who complete the training will receive certification, while non-compliance will be recorded in their Annual Confidential Report (ACR).

Educational Empowerment Through the ‘Super Hundred’ Program

Brigadier Vinod Singh Negi of the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre stressed the importance of an educated society for India’s development. He urged school principals to encourage students to join the ‘Super Hundred’ program, which provides free NEET and engineering coaching at the War Memorial Hostel in Dehradun. Seventy percent of seats in this initiative are reserved for students from hilly areas.

On Sunday, the Uttarakhand Human Service Committee, Delhi, distributed computers, projectors, and other academic resources to 27 schools in Pauri and Tehri districts at the Garhwal Regiment Centre’s Surjan Auditorium. The event was inaugurated by Brigadier Negi, Committee Chairman VN Sharma, District Education Officer Ranjit Singh Negi, and Jayharikhal Inter College Principal Rajeshwari Dhasmana.

VN Sharma stated that out of 80 schools covered under this initiative, 42 are in Pauri, with 18 in Rudraprayag previously benefiting.
