Following the directive of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, new appointments have been made to the Shri Badrinath and Shri Kedarnath Temple Committee. Hemant Dwivedi from Pauri Garhwal has been appointed as the new President of the committee. In a notable move, two Vice Presidents have also been appointed — Rishi Prasad Sati from Chamoli and Vijay Kaparwan from Rudraprayag.
Given the increasing number of pilgrims and the expanding scope of the committee’s responsibilities during the Char Dham Yatra, the decision to appoint more than one Vice President is aimed at improving management and coordination. The representation from Pauri, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag districts ensures stronger local involvement in decision-making, which is expected to enhance service delivery to pilgrims.
CM Dhami congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers and expressed confidence that their dedication, experience, and vision will accelerate and strengthen the work of the temple committee. He stated that appointing two Vice Presidents is a strategic step to improve operations, coordination, and facilities in the pilgrimage zones. The government has also assured all necessary support to the committee for the effective management of the sacred shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath.
