Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan jointly inaugurated the House of Himalayas store at the check-in area of Dehradun Airport. The initiative aims to promote the Vocal for Local and Atmanirbhar Bharat campaigns by showcasing locally made products to travelers.
CM Dhami stated that this step will provide a platform to women self-help groups and rural entrepreneurs by making their herbal products, organic honey, pulses, garments, handicrafts, and traditional delicacies easily accessible to tourists and passengers. The store will serve as a window to Uttarakhand’s culture and craftsmanship.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan commended the state government for ensuring smooth arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra, making the pilgrimage more accessible to domestic and international devotees. Both dignitaries enjoyed a tea session at the store before departing — CM Dhami left for Dehradun, while Chouhan boarded an Indigo flight to Delhi.
The event was also attended by Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Executive Director Deepak Chamoli, and Deputy General Manager Nitin Kadian, among others.
