India has delivered a powerful response to Pakistan following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. In a retaliatory strike, the Indian Armed Forces targeted multiple Pakistani positions, with the most significant blow being the destruction of Pakistan’s air defense system in Lahore. Reports of explosions from Lahore and other border areas began surfacing in Pakistani media early Thursday morning.
The Government of India, through the Press Information Bureau (PIB), confirmed at 2:34 PM that Pakistan’s attempts to escalate tensions had been effectively countered. India neutralized Pakistani attacks with precision, demonstrating its capability and resolve.
According to the statement, during the night of May 7–8, Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks targeting fifteen Indian cities including Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Bhuj. However, India’s air defense and counter-UAS systems intercepted and neutralized all threats, with debris recovered for assessment.
In the early hours of Thursday, India carried out a precision retaliatory operation, disabling Pakistan’s air defense network in Lahore. The strike delivered a strong message, significantly weakening Pakistan’s surveillance and response capabilities in the region.
On the Line of Control, Pakistan’s shelling killed 16 civilians, including three women and five children, in areas like Kupwara, Uri, and Rajouri. In response, the Indian Army retaliated effectively, forcing Pakistan to halt its artillery fire.
Earlier, in ‘Operation Sindoor’ conducted between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM on May 7, Indian forces launched 24 missiles, destroying nine terror camps—five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and four in Pakistan. These camps were known hubs for recruitment and radicalization of terrorists.
