In a cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at the State Secretariat under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Uttarakhand government approved 12 significant proposals. The decisions span across employment, transportation, environmental policy, and public welfare.
One of the major approvals includes extending the deceased dependent benefit to 859 Pariyavaran Mitras who have been working since 2013. In a move aimed at promoting clean transport, battery-operated, electric, and strong hybrid petrol vehicles will be fully exempt from transport tax, with only GST applicable.
To simplify vehicle conversion under the state’s sanitation mobility regulations, the cabinet approved streamlined subsidy procedures. CNG and BS-6 city buses operating in Dehradun will now receive up to 50% or ₹15 lakh subsidy. Diesel-run Vikram and similar transport vehicles will also be covered under the new subsidy scheme.
For job aspirants, the cabinet decided that recruitment exams for constables and sub-inspectors will now be conducted simultaneously. All sub-inspector-level positions will follow a unified examination format to ensure transparency and consistency.
Additionally, 15 new posts have been created in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC), including one regular and 14 outsourced roles. The State Human Rights Commission will also see an expansion with the sanctioning of 12 new posts, including 7 regular and 5 outsourced positions.
