Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, during his visit to Delhi today. The meeting focused on the development of hydropower projects and support under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

CM Dhami requested that power lines in the Rishikesh-Haridwar region be made underground and automated for safety and efficiency. He also urged the Centre to provide ₹4000 crore as Viability Gap Funding for hydropower projects in Kumaon and Upper Yamuna regions.

In addition, the CM sought ₹3800 crore for developing pump storage projects in remote and hilly areas to enhance energy generation and boost local development. He requested that banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions be issued clear guidelines to ensure easy loan access for EWS beneficiaries.

He also pushed for extending the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) from Modipuram–Meerut to Haridwar, which would ease traffic, promote urbanisation, and accelerate economic growth in the region.
