The monsoon is expected to intensify again in Uttarakhand starting today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall on July 6 in Rudraprayag, Tehri, Bageshwar, and Dehradun. Continuous debris flow and landslides have already led to the closure of several key roads across the state.
According to the State Emergency Operation Center, 67 roads are currently blocked. These include 4 rural roads in Rudraprayag, 1 national highway and 11 rural roads in Uttarkashi, 2 in Nainital, 1 state highway and 21 rural roads in Chamoli, 6 in Pithoragarh, 1 highway and 1 rural road in Almora, 11 rural roads in Bageshwar, 3 in Pauri Garhwal, 2 in Dehradun, and 3 rural roads in Tehri district.
A yellow alert has also been issued for several other districts, warning of heavy showers and urging residents and tourists to remain cautious.
