Dehradun, 10 Oct: The Uttarakhand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the appointment of the State President and General Secretaries for its youth wing, the Yuva Morcha. State Media In-charge, BJP, Manveer Singh Chauhan shared that the appointments were made in accordance with the directions of the State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt.
Vipul Maindoli from Rishikesh has been appointed the State President of the BJP Yuva Morcha, while two state general secretaries have also been appointed. Deependra Koshyari from Nainital and Mulayam Singh Rawat from Tehri have been nominated state general secretaries.
Vipul Maindoli
Vipul Maindoli, the newly appointed State President, hails from Rishikesh and is regarded as a dynamic and dedicated youth leader within the party. His elevation to the top post of the Yuva Morcha is seen as recognition of his longstanding contribution and active involvement in the organisation’s activities.
General Secretary nominee Deependra Koshyari, a resident of Nainital, is the nephew of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and former Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Having grown up in a politically active environment influenced by his uncle’s leadership and association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Deependra has been deeply connected with the BJP’s ideology from an early age.

It may be pertinent to note here that for past few months it was being speculated in the party and political circles that Koshyari would be nominated as state Yuva Morcha President and sources in the party claim that this appointment was almost certain. However, too much of speculation in this regard probably changed some political equations and now he has been appointed as one of the two general secretaries. He is also considered to be close to the present Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who himself was a protégé of Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
Another appointment as General Secretary has gone to Mulayam Singh Rawat of Tehri Garhwal. Rawat has been associated with the Yuva Morcha for several years and is known for his organisational capabilities. His inclusion in the state team is viewed as a significant step towards strengthening his political career and enhancing the party’s outreach among young voters.
It may be recalled that the BJP had earlier already announced its new 42-member state team on 15 September. While Mahendra Bhatt was retained as the State Party Chief, Deepti Rawat, Kundan Parihar and Tarun Bansal were appointed as the State General Secretaries, while eight party leaders each were named as State Vice Presidents and State Secretaries respectively. Senior leader Anil Goyal was among those appointed as State Vice President. Puneet Mittal was retained as State Treasurer, and Manveer Singh Chauhan was retained as Media In-charge for the third time. Ruchi Bhatt was designated President of the Mahila Morcha (Women’s Wing). The composition of that team was widely interpreted as part of the BJP’s strategy in view of the 2027 Assembly elections.
