The State Election Commission of Uttarakhand has finalized preparations for the upcoming elections to the posts of District Panchayat President and Block Chief. On Monday, candidates will file nominations for the positions of President and Vice President in the District Panchayat, as well as Block Chief, Senior Block Chief, and Junior Block Chief in the Kshetra Panchayat.
According to the official notification, nomination filing and scrutiny will take place on August 11. Candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations on August 12. Voting will be held on August 14 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with counting of votes to begin immediately after polling ends.
This election cycle sees six out of the twelve District Panchayat President seats reserved for women. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its supported candidates for all District Panchayat President and Block Chief positions. Meanwhile, the Congress has declared its supported candidates in four districts ahead of the nomination process.
