Man Kills Friend with Hammer over Suspicion of Affair with Wife in Haridwar

In Haridwar’s Sidcul area, a shocking murder took place after a man attacked his friend with a hammer on suspicion of having an illicit relationship with his wife. The accused, identified as Dharmendra (42), was arrested at the spot along with the murder weapon. Police have sent him to jail after presenting him in court.

According to SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal, Dharmendra and the victim Lalit (38), both natives of Bijnor’s Naugawan village, had been living in a rented house in Rawli Mehdood for the past few years and worked at the same company. Around 2:30 a.m. on Friday night, Dharmendra struck Lalit on the head with a hammer while he was asleep, killing him instantly.

House owner Sukhveer Singh immediately informed the police, after which SHO Manohar Singh Bhandari reached the scene with his team. The forensic unit collected evidence, and Lalit’s body was sent for post-mortem before being handed over to his family. A case of murder has been registered based on Sukhveer Singh’s complaint.
