Kedarnath Yatra: Over 15 Lakh Pilgrims Visit Shrine, Chants of Devotion Echo on Trek Route

The Kedarnath shrine has crossed the mark of 15 lakh visitors this season, bringing back vibrancy to the pilgrimage. Over the past week, a steady rise in devotees has been recorded, with chants of “Baba Kedarnath” resonating throughout the trek route from Gaurikund to the shrine. With 40 days of the yatra still remaining, the numbers are expected to climb further.

On Wednesday, 5,215 devotees had darshan at the temple, including 3,245 men, 1,847 women, 92 children, and 31 foreign nationals. With this, the total number of pilgrims who have visited so far stands at 5,03,245. All devotees were allowed darshan from the sanctum sanctorum itself, as confirmed by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC).

BKTC’s Chief Administrative Officer Yadvinder Pushpawan said that since last week, the number of pilgrims has consistently grown. Darshan begins daily from 5 a.m., and at 12:30 p.m., Lord Kedarnath is offered Bal Bhog. After 1 p.m., temple visits resume. With the yatra set to continue for another 40 days, officials expect the daily footfall to increase further in the coming weeks.
