The second edition of the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) is set to begin on September 23 in Dehradun, featuring 11 teams, including seven men’s and four women’s squads. The tournament promises high-intensity cricket along with cultural events to engage fans.
Organizer Rajeev Khanna announced that the men’s champion team will receive a prize of Rs 25 lakh, while the women’s champion team will be awarded Rs 7 lakh. Each match will also carry a “Man of the Match” prize of Rs 10,000.
The UPL will feature top cricketers as icon players. In the men’s category, Avneesh Sudha, Yuvraj Chaudhary, Jagdish Suchit, Prashant Chopra, Bhupen Lalwani, Kunal Chandela, and Rajan Kumar will participate. In the women’s category, Mansi Joshi, Neelam Bhardwaj, Sweta Verma, and Kanchan Parihar have been named icon players.
The tournament will be inaugurated with a grand ceremony, followed by daily matches and cultural programs. Officials from the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand were also present during the announcement.
