Dehradun, 16 Oct: The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, observed World Food Day today, with the theme “Hand in Hand for better foods and better future”, featuring active participation from students and faculty. The day was marked by a Model Making Competition and a Fireless Dish Making Competition that added colour and creativity to the celebration.
Students displayed models that combined the themes of food and science, reflecting their innovative ideas for a healthier and more sustainable future. In the fireless cooking event, participants presented a range of nutritious and appealing dishes prepared without using fire, promoting healthy eating habits.
The programme was attended by Prof (Dr) Sharad Pandey, Director, SOA, and Prof (Dr) Rajendra Prasad, HOD, SOA, along with faculty members and students.
All the events were judged by Dr Reeta Rautela from the SLA, Dr Shefali Singh from the SALS, and Vijay Pant from the USHHM. The judges appreciated the originality and effort shown by the participants.
Winners and first runners-up received prizes for their outstanding performances. The event concluded with words of appreciation from the Director and HOD, who encouraged students to keep participating in such events in the future.
