Dehradun, 22 Oct: As the Bihar Assembly election campaign gains momentum, senior leaders of the Uttarakhand BJP have been entrusted with important responsibilities to strengthen the party’s campaign machinery in the neighbouring state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who has attracted national attention through the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code and several other significant policy decisions, features prominently among the party’s star campaigners. State General Secretary (Organisation) Ajaey Kumar has been given charge of managing election activities across 42 assembly constituencies in Bihar.

Ajay Bhatt

Nainital MP and former Union Minister Ajay Bhatt has been nominated as in-charge of the Valmikinagar Lok Sabha constituency, while three other BJP MLAs from Uttarakhand have also been assigned campaign duties in different regions. Preparations are underway to dispatch teams from the BJP Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha to Bihar to support on-ground electioneering efforts.

BJP insiders remind that, since 2014, the BJP has maintained an unbroken winning streak in Uttarakhand, consistently outclassing the opposition in every Lok Sabha and Assembly election. Besides the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they also attribute this success to the party’s meticulous booth management system, which ensures the appointment of Panna Pramukhs at every booth and sustains regular contact with voters through active local teams. The state’s model of electoral management has also been cited by the central leadership as a benchmark, and party strategists frequently rely on Uttarakhand’s organisational strength during major polls nationwide.

Ajaey Kumar

In keeping with this strategy, BJP leaders from Uttarakhand have been deeply involved in the Bihar campaign. While star campaigner Pushkar Singh Dhami has already addressed rallies across several constituencies, BJP’s General Secretary (Organisation) Ajaey Kumar has been stationed in Bihar for over a month supervising the overall coordination of the campaign.

Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt has been leading a vigorous campaign across six assembly segments under the Valmikinagar Lok Sabha seat for the past three weeks, holding roadshows, meetings, and public interactions. Party MLAs Pradeep Batra, Shiv Arora, and Arvind Pandey have also been tasked with mobilising support in various constituencies.

In an informal interaction, Ajay Bhatt claimed that a strong wave in favour of the BJP-led NDA is clearly visible across Bihar. Arvind Pandey, who recently returned from a six-day visit to the Sitamarhi Assembly constituency, stated that he had already conducted meetings with workers from all 247 booth units under his jurisdiction and would be returning to Bihar shortly to continue the campaign. Other Uttarakhand leaders too remain active in their respective areas, working to consolidate voter support and build momentum in favour of the BJP candidates as the poll battle intensifies.
