Dehradun – Shefali Rawat and Shivam Singh Negi will lead Uttarakhand’s women’s and men’s blind football teams respectively in the upcoming North Central Zone IBFF Blind Football Championship. The tournament will be held from 1 to 3 November 2025 at JRD Tata Stadium in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun, has once again been entrusted with the role of head coach, reinforcing the Uttarakhand Blind Sports Association’s continued faith in the institution. Head coach Naresh Singh Nyal expressed full confidence in both teams, which include several experienced international players. The players have been consistently training under his guidance at NIEPVD, Dehradun. Notably, both Uttarakhand teams were champions in the 2023 edition of the tournament.
The women’s team includes:
Shefali Rawat (Captain), Sheetal Kumari (Vice-Captain), Tanuja Parmar, Anushka Dubey, Shraddha Yadav (Goalkeeper), and Smita Rawat (Goalkeeper).
The men’s team includes:
Shivam Singh Negi (Captain), Sovendar Bhandari (Vice-Captain), Sandeep Singh Bisht, Sahil, Himanshu Pal, Rajesh, Nikhil, Naman Pandey, Aditya Sajwan (Goalkeeper), Deepak Singh Rawat (Goalkeeper), and Deepanshu Paliwal (Goal Guide).
Uttarakhand Blind Sports Association Chairman Anant Prakash Mehra congratulated both teams and said he expects an excellent performance from them. The teams will depart from Dehradun for Jamshedpur on 30 October.
