Cabinet Decision: Minimum Support Price for Apples and Pears Increased

Dehradun, December 11, 2024: The state government has announced a hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for C-grade apples and pears for the 2024-25 season. The MSP for C-grade apples has been set at ₹13 per kg, while pears (Gola variety) will fetch ₹7 per kg, reflecting a ₹1 per kg increase for both fruits.

Cabinet’s Key Decision:

  • Apple MSP: ₹13 per kg (C-grade)
  • Pear MSP: ₹7 per kg (Gola variety)

The decision aims to provide fair prices to fruit growers in the state, ensuring economic stability for horticultural producers. Moving forward, the administrative department, in consultation with the finance department, will set the MSP for various fruits, including C-grade apples, pears, malta, galgal, and hill lemons.The proposal received the Chief Minister’s approval on October 18, 2024, ensuring its implementation.
