A villager was killed in a tiger attack in the Bagga 54 area of the Surai Range in Khatima. Police said the incident caused panic in the village. On receiving information late Sunday night, Sub-Inspector Laxman Joshi reached the spot with a police team.
During inspection, the body was found with claw and bite marks on the neck, back and hands. The right hip was found eaten. The deceased was identified as 52-year-old Sher Singh Kanyal, son of Hark Singh Kanyal, a resident of Chakarpur Line, Bagga Chauhan.
Police took the body into custody and kept it in the mortuary.
