Tension surfaced in Tyuni area of Dehradun district after information about an alleged prayer hall being set up in a private building near Hanol Mahasu Temple. Members of Rudra Seva Foundation reached the spot and demanded immediate administrative action.

Founder Rakesh Tomar Uttarakhandi, along with supporters, visited the site and sought sealing of the building. He also demanded a ban on the entry of non-Hindus within a 500-metre radius of the Hanol Mahasu Temple and cancellation of the tribal certificate of the person concerned. He warned of an agitation if their demands are not addressed.

Police from Tyuni police station also reached the location following the information. According to the activists, they had earlier informed authorities about the alleged prayer activity near the temple but no action was taken, prompting their visit. They entered the private building to verify the situation.

The building owner stated that his wife had been seriously ill for a long time and that he had adopted Christianity in 2012–13. He claimed that her health improved thereafter and that prayers were being conducted at home. He denied constructing a church.

However, activists objected after noticing religious symbols and arrangements resembling a church inside the building. Station House Officer Ashwani Baluni urged both sides to maintain peace and said action would be taken after receiving a written complaint.
