The Badrinath Highway near Nandprayag will remain closed from December 18, 2024, to January 7, 2025, due to debris removal from a 400-meter landslide-affected section. During this period, vehicles will be diverted through the Nandprayag-Saikot-Kothiyalsain route.
As per District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari’s directives, debris removal work will be conducted from 8 AM to 6 PM daily. Vehicles traveling from Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Karnprayag to Jyotirmath and Pipalkoti will be rerouted through the designated alternate path.
Residents of Pursari, Bajpur, and Maithana villages will face an additional travel distance of 16 km due to the highway closure. Pilgrims and tourists visiting the region during the winter season will also need to use the alternate route.
