The Chamoli court has delivered a significant ruling in the high-profile Badrinath Temple donation case, refusing to grant relief to the main accused, Pramod Nautiyal. The court dismissed his bail application and also rejected the police’s request for his custodial remand.
The police had sought custodial remand to conduct further interrogation and collect additional evidence related to the alleged irregularities in the handling of temple donations at the world-famous Badrinath Dham. Investigators argued that Nautiyal’s custody was necessary to advance the ongoing probe.
Meanwhile, the accused’s legal counsel filed a bail application, requesting his release during the investigation. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court declined to accept either plea.
With the court rejecting both the bail application and the police remand request, Pramod Nautiyal will continue to remain in judicial custody. As per the court’s order, he will remain lodged in Pursadi Jail until August 6, while the investigation and legal proceedings continue.
Police officials said the probe into the alleged donation irregularities is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
