Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan will visit Uttarakhand on February 21 and take part in various programmes at the Chauras campus of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Srinagar. Preparations for the proposed visit have been intensified by the university administration.
A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shri Prakash Singh to review arrangements for the event. The Vice-Chancellor directed all officials to ensure smooth coordination and efficient execution of assigned responsibilities to make the programme successful.
To manage the visit and related events, several committees have been formed at the university level. During his visit, General Anil Chauhan may also launch a skill development course proposed to be run for Agniveers, which is expected to strengthen employment-oriented training for youth associated with the armed forces.
The meeting was attended by programme coordinator Prof. Mahendra Pratap Singh Bisht, Registrar Anees-uz-Zaman, Finance Officer Prof. N.S. Panwar, Dean Student Welfare Prof. O.P. Gusain, Chief Proctor Prof. Deepak Kumar, Deputy Registrar (Finance) Dr. Sanjay Dhyani, In-charge Executive Engineer Prof. Brijesh Gangil, along with other university officials.
