Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi to discuss preparations for the 38th National Games set to be held in Uttarakhand. CM Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Minister for granting Uttarakhand the opportunity to host the prestigious event. Scheduled from January 28 to February 14, the games will witness participation from over 10,000 athletes across the country.
The CM highlighted efforts to promote a sporting culture in Uttarakhand by developing world-class sports infrastructure to support athletes.
Financial Assistance Sought
The Chief Minister requested financial aid for several key projects:
- Construction of a High Altitude Center in Dinapani, Almora.
- Establishment of multipurpose sports halls in every development block.
- Upgrading the ice skating rink at Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun.
- Enhancing the Adventure Training Center in New Tehri.
- Building an artificial rock climbing wall at the Women’s Sports College in Champawat.
These initiatives aim to provide modern facilities and further boost sports in the state.
