New Deoband-Roorkee Rail Line

Roorkee – The Deoband–Roorkee new railway line project has received safety clearance from the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) for its 29.55-kilometre stretch. A successful high-speed trial was recently conducted at a speed of 122 km/h. With the launch of this new line, the railway distance between Delhi and Dehradun is expected to reduce by approximately 40 kilometres, resulting in significant travel time savings.

Reacting to this key development, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He stated that the project will open new avenues of growth for the people of Uttarakhand, boosting tourism, employment, and trade in the region.

CM Dhami said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s infrastructure is witnessing unprecedented growth. Strengthening Uttarakhand’s railway network has always been our priority, and the Deoband–Roorkee railway line marks a historic step in that direction. I also extend special thanks to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for his continued support in accelerating this project.
