Dehradun – In a bid to ensure good governance, Dehradun District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal conducted a surprise inspection of the Gulargarhi food warehouse. During the visit, the DM found that the warehouse was not following the required standards, and records were not properly maintained. Expressing dissatisfaction, he ordered adverse remarks to be issued against Senior Marketing Officer Vishnu Prasad Chaturvedi and directed departmental action.
The warehouse supplies food not only to Dehradun residents but also to other districts in the Garhwal region. Upon the DM’s arrival, the officials present were visibly unsettled. During the inspection, food samples were collected, and when some samples failed quality tests, the DM instructed that several quintals of substandard food grains be destroyed. He emphasized that negligence affecting the health of children, women, and the elderly would not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against responsible officials.

He ordered immediate corrective measures. Additionally, the DM checked the weight of the food grain sacks and found discrepancies. Instead of the expected 50,580 kg, the actual weight was only 50,150 kg, which was below the standard.
Present during the inspection were Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Jaybharat Singh, Tehsildar Surendra Dev, and Food Safety Officers. The DM has instructed the concerned officials to ensure strict compliance with food storage regulations.
