Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on tuesday. He has requested ₹63.60 crore from Union Home Minister for establishing a Cyber Security Excellence Centre in Uttarakhand. During a courtesy meeting in New Delhi, the CM discussed various issues related to the state’s development. He emphasized that the proposed centre will play a vital role in preventing digital crimes, cyber forensic training, and the development of modern cyber security infrastructure.
Dhami also raised the issue of natural disaster-related damages to Uttarakhand’s power infrastructure. He urged that the power generation, transmission, and distribution assets in small Himalayan states be brought under the compensation purview of NDRF and SDRF. This, he said, would strengthen the disaster management mechanism of the state.
Additionally, the CM sought early approval of ₹150.16 crore for the expansion of Sitarganj Central Jail. Highlighting the success of the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023, Dhami informed that the state has signed MoUs worth over ₹3.50 lakh crore. To celebrate this success, he announced the upcoming “Uttarakhand Nivesh Utsav” in the industrial area of Pantnagar-Rudrapur.
He invited Amit Shah to attend the event as the chief guest. The Union Home Minister assured positive action on all proposals and expressed continued support for Uttarakhand’s growth. CM Dhami reiterated the state’s commitment to contributing to the vision of a ‘New India’ under PM Modi’s leadership.
