Dehradun: Several prominent builders and liquor traders in the capital city are under the scanner of the Income Tax Department after multiple raids were carried out across Dehradun. Teams from Delhi conducted the operation early Tuesday at various locations linked to top businessmen.
According to official sources, the raids were launched following reports of undisclosed financial transactions worth several crores. The department is investigating premises belonging to leading builders Kamal Arora, Inder Khatri, and Rakesh Batta; Kasiga School operator Ramesh Batta; and liquor trader Pradeep Walia.

The searches are ongoing at properties located on Rajpur Road, MKP Road, and the Dwarka Store area. Large volumes of financial documents and digital records are being examined by the authorities to trace possible tax evasion and unaccounted assets.
